Thank you for your interest in our villas. We look forward to speaking with you!
Perched on a sloping hillock, overlooking the Indian Ocean, the Stow House is an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city living.
All three bedroom suites at the Stow House have ocean views with large timber pivoting doors opening on to a private terrace. The master bedroom has en-suite bathroom, while the two other bedrooms have to shared bathroom.
The landscaped gardens surrounding the Stow House leads down to the pool at the bottom of the small hillock on which it is built. The 15m pool nestled at the bottom of the garden has an infinity edge matching the ocean horizon.
Stow house has been especially designed to encourage its visitors to take in the beauty of its surrounding landscape. The spacious living area at the heart of the Stow House completely opens out to the garden with a view of the ocean. The living and dining are all located in one open space and for those who would like to cook there is also a small gallery kitchen in the same area. Guests also have the option of eating alfresco with a dining area in the garden equipped with a barbeque stand.
Fully staffed with 2 housekeepers/cooks, a gardener and a manager, guests are well looked after at the Stow House. Meals can be picked out of the menus and prepared by the staff with fresh ingredients locally sourced. Seafood would be the freshest choice as guests may even be able to see the fishermen bringing in their dinner right in front of the house. There is a door at the bottom of the garden which opens to a path leading up to the beach.
The Stow house is ideally located to travel to the tourist hub of Galle or the National Wildlife parks at Yala or Udawalawe, all are just a few hours away. Closer to the villa, guests can see one of the world’s tallest blowholes, called “Hoo Maniya”. And just across the bay, they will find the Turtle Conservation Project in Rekawa and whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa.
The villa is nice with such a huge open space. It seems to you that you are living in the nature. You can see / hear monkeys, peacock, iguane, birds in the garden nearby. It is nice to go down to the sea, crossing the greengarden. You can hear the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks down the villa. Maybe you could be disturbed a little by this type of noise for sleeping (1 person on 6, as for us) The pool is big and the water is warm (32°C at the evening). The staff is so friendly, available. Special mention for the cook and her delicious food. We also did appreciate the help of Verena, the manager of the villa. To have a local mobile phone at disposal provided by the villa is also very convenient. Something to improve : the trickle of hotwater in the shower of the master room is very, very little... If you book the villa, don't forget to ask for the way to reach the villa. It is very useful
