Satin Doll truly feels like a little piece of paradise on earth. Everything about our stay was exceptional — the interior design, the beautifully maintained grounds, the location, the housekeeping, and every single member of the staff. The nearby beaches are also wonderful, and I highly recommend taking the stairs down from the property to the shore and walking to Mieripe Beach. I have to give special thanks to Chana, who deserves a separate mention. He made our stay absolutely magical. From the first moment to the last, he was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, and he handled every request with genuine care and professionalism. The food also deserves its own praise. Every single dish we tried was outstanding. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner — everything was consistently delicious. The prawns were unforgettable, the best French toast I have ever had, and honestly the best Bolognese I have ever tasted — and I have had Bolognese in many places. The chefs at Satin Doll are truly gifted. The food was so good that we completely lost interest in eating anywhere outside the hotel. We had a wonderful stay and would return without hesitation.

Our stay at Satin Doll was pure magic — peaceful, indulgent, and made unforgettable by the incredible staff. Satin Doll is the most tranquil and beautifully maintained property we have ever stayed in. Set right on the water, with only five bedrooms, it offers a rare sense of privacy and calm. You can rent the entire villa with friends or family, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet on your own — either way, it feels incredibly special. The food is absolutely outstanding. We highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfasts and the curries. The portions are wonderfully generous — we found ourselves ordering far too much each time, but had no regrets. You can easily share, or indulge completely like we did. Either way, you will be gleefully satisfied. And the staff… the staff truly make this place unforgettable. They are the warmest, kindest, most attentive people we have ever met. Nothing is too much trouble, and they made us feel so genuinely welcome and cared for throughout our stay. We have travelled extensively, and Satin Doll takes the cake as our favourite place we have ever stayed. It is very, very special. Do yourself a favour — stay here. You will not want to leave.

Superb! Lovely hotel with garden overlooking the sea. Really quiet and secluded. Staff really helpful and friendly, we had breakfast and dinner in the pagoda in the garden with the sound of the waves. Lovely room and bathroom, birds and monkeys to watch and the sea on our doorstep.

Great hotel. Faultless. Delicious breakfast. Situated on a lovely part of the beach. Be aware that due to the reef, it's not suitable for swimming but plenty of spots nearby. It's suitable for a dip. It's lovely to hear the waves crashing in at night. Staff are fantastic, and the Sri Lankan breakfast is a must try - delicious ! All breakfast options were delicious. Nice plunge pool. Very clean rooms with mossie net and tea and coffee. Very comfortable bed.

We loved it all. We loved our stay. The staff were wonderful and we ate supper there every night as the food was excellent. Best breakfast ever and best mango I have ever had and I’m old! Peaceful and beautiful. Wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows.

We will be back. We had the best stay of our holiday here. It was superb in every way. We had been non-stop prior to our arrival so we did nothing, but eat, sleep and relax here. The food was also some of the best we'd tasted while in Sri Lanka. Thank you.

A gem of rare beauty right on the beach of Talpe. This boutique villa will grant you peace and pleasant moments during your stay, is furnished with style and elegance and has a wide garden, a small but very elegant and useful pool for when the tide is high and there a lot of big waves on the beach. The chef is very capable and skilled, will please your food needs at every meal, breakfast included! The few rooms are spacious, luxurious and extremely comfortable. Staff will tidy it up every time you leave the room. Talpe is very close to the charming Galle and Unawatuna but also Koggala, Mirissa, and Waligama are easy to reach with the local and very cheap bus service.

Real Paradise. Villas are comfortable, spacious, beautiful and clean. Territory is a green garden with an amazing lawn. Delicious breakfasts on the ocean beach with the view to the waves and local stick fishermen. Staff takes care of you every moment, solving all your problems with great creativity. Dinners are also delicious (both Local food and European dishes).

Expectation were surpassed from the moment we walk in. Food was sensational and the friendly staffs were always there when needed. It is hard leaving and returning to work. I am sure all fun of us will return before too long. This house is heaven.

The rooms and communal areas are beautiful decorated, extremely relaxing and comfortable. The staff are superb, well trained, keen to please but at the same time respectful of privacy. Which all goes together to make it a perfect spot to unwind and slip in to the pace of this tropical delight. I would definitely return.
