Siri Wedamadura Villa is a beautiful, tropical paradise in the village of Mirissa, Sri Lanka. A traditional, Sri Lankan home featuring colonial-inspired architecture and understated vintage interiors, it brings about a sense of calm and serenity. Housing four elegant bedrooms, large living spaces, and expansive gardens, the villa is a complete family-friendly holiday home. Sprawling green gardens dappled with tall palm trees are the most striking feature of the villa especially since they spread far and wide. If you’re a fan of adventures and wildlife, this is the ideal location since you can go whale watching, engage in water activities, and go surfing at Weligama.
Siri Wedamadura Villa has four double bedrooms designed with minimal décor, working with the beauty of its surroundings and swathing them in whites and neutrals for an almost meditative vibe. Antique armoires can hold all your belongings and the windows offer luscious views of the gardens. Accompanying the bedrooms are en-suite bathrooms with polished walls, large windows, a shower area and other amenities.

Surrounded by a flourish of thriving tropical flora is the free-size swimming pool at Siri Wedamadura Villa. For as far as you can see there are thickets of palm trees high up in the sky casting their shade upon the green grass. The beautiful landscape is heightened because of the gorgeous tropical climate. You can relax on the sun chairs and rattan beds and even enjoy the view so gloriously spread out in front of you. Just behind the deck is a stone pavilion under a shingled roof with comfortable seating a table for your morning tea, breakfast, or light snacks in the evening.
Through traditional doors, one can head to the living room at the villa which boasts high soaring ceilings, a sunroof through which streams in abundant natural light, and vintage interiors. There are vinyl lattice furniture which will take you back in time, floor lamps, and artwork adorning the walls. Weathered and washed-off look on the ceiling completes this antique and unique room. You will find bookshelves for you to enjoy bestselling titles, games like carrom (a South Asian board game), and other pleasant activities to engage in.
Dine outdoors on the alfresco dining area found on the terrace with an in-built natural stone dining table for a memorable meal with loved ones. The chef is skilled at both local and international cuisines and you can easily request for some delectable meals for an added cost. A BBQ can be arranged with the freshest catch to satisfy your seafood cravings.
The staff at the villa is happy to help with any requests including transportation as there are tuk-tuks available to take you around the village, meal prep with the help of a personal chef, and other services like massages, yoga sessions etc. They can give excellent suggestions on where to go and what to see during your time in Sri Lanka.
Mirissa is the most convenient location since it is close to many sights and sounds in the southern coast of Sri Lanka. There is the more exciting dolphin and whale watching where you can witness schools of dolphins having the time of their lives or you can head to Weligama to surf on its excellent surf breaks. Nearby there is a turtle hatchery as well or you can head to Galle to revisit its historical past.
10/10Great place. Pool and grounds are so lovely. The staff are amazing and helped with everything. The food was also delicious!! Couldn’t ask for much more!
10/10The house was absolutely stunning amidst 7 acres of green lush gardens. Everything was exquisitely decorated making it the perfect sanctuary to relax and enjoy Mirissa. Close to Mirissa beach and also 10 -15 min walk to secret beach so lots of options nearby. Jankana and the team made delicious meals for us every day with an abundance of choice and variety too! Jankana offered us great local recommendations too for surfing. Laundry was also returned back to us within a few hours which was so welcome after a week on the road. Just such a special place!
10/10This villa takes your breath away. Thoughtfully redesigned by the owner and local architects it is a piece of Sri Lankan history which is a privilege to visit. Added to this, the food experience provided by the chef based at the villa was the highest quality we had while in the country and brought a totally unexpected but valuable part of the stay. Mirissa beach is also iconic and when the surf is up, is only a 2 min walk from the villa. We loved our stay. Thank you
10/10The villa is beautiful. The architecture takes you back in time, every corner is well maintained, the vegetation envelops you. A few minutes' walk and you're at the beach. Janaka is an excellent chef, as well as being super efficient in organizing anything you want. Massages, yoga, cooking class in the villa! We'll be back! The monkeys at sunset were the icing on the cake ❤️
10/10Janaka and team will make sure your stay is fabulous! Janaka’s cooking was exceptional, every meal was different and delicious. He was happy to help us arrange activities etc, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent attention to detail and they decorated the house for Christmas. Beautiful house and surroundings, peacocks and monkeys to watch play in the garden, a short walk to the beach and Mirissa. Weligama a short drive away. We will definitely come back! Wonderful stay, we were sad to leave them.
10/10The accommodation was just amazing. The villa itself was impeccable and the grounds were like a nature reserve. The food that was prepared by the staff made our trip to Sri Lanka. Our main staff contact at the villa was so helpful and friendly. We loved getting to know him. I highly recommend this as a place to stay if you are visiting Mirissa.
10/10I had great communication with Katy and the staff before our arrival and the chef prepared us amazing food! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The house had quick and easy access to the beach, and the property was very well maintained and beautiful.
10/10We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights! The house is surrounded by nature, many animals and lush plants. The staff looked after us so well and the chef provided delicious food. Only a few minutes walk to Mirissa beach and secret beach. We would highly recommend staying here! Thank you!
10/10What a lovely stay! Siri wademadura is a slice of haven in beautiful Mirissa. We had felt right at home from the second we arrive. The house is beautiful and uniquely designed, and the surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful. it really is feel like you’re in nature, but have all the facilities and comfort you need. Location is great -walkable distance to the beach and short tuk tuk ride to all the main attractions. the peak of our stay was meeting the wonderful staff the lovely Eronika who cared for us and the children looking how to make our stay comfortable and making sure everything was suitable and clean. And janaka the amazing chef, who introduced us to all the flavors of Sri Lanka, and made our meals very memorable. We will definitely be back soon.
10/10We stayed at Siri Wedamadura for Christmas and New Year. The house and grounds are remarkable. Recently fully renovated, the house feels light and has neither more nor less than necessary for a very comfortable and truly relaxing stay. Modernization has been handled with great care for creating a fantastic mix of quality traditional and contemporary elements. Even though we were eight people, including 4 children, there was always enough space to either gather or to retreat. There are roofed over terraces front and back as well as a pool pavillon. Pool and grounds are beautifully kept, with three gardeners, keeping nature in check nicely. As much of the 5 acres are steep hill, the grounds feel even bigger than that. They also offer fantastic sea views from the top. Staff also includes a night watch, chef and housekeeper. All are efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. Our chef was a delight, and very responsive to our requests, be that Sri Lankan food (spicy to order) or a Christmas Turkey. There is plenty to see near and far – we surely need to come back to Sri Lanka to see Kandy and some of the nature reserves. House staff will help with local transport and excursions. Mirissa, although clearly a tourist destination, is a traditional village. The mixture works well. The excellent beach is 5 mins walk away and was never too crowded. We have rarely had a more convivial new year than this one on Mirissa beach. Surfing, at Mirissa, or the nearby Welligama, is the most popular activity, waves are ideal; sailing and diving are also available nearby. Entering the property from the quiet village road outside, we felt like coming “home” – We felt truly sorry leaving this wonderful house and wholeheartedly recommend spending time at Siri Wedamadura.
10/10We loved it! The home is private and comfortable and a very short walk to the pristine Mirissa Beach. The staff are wonderful and really work to make your stay memorable. Our family celebrated a wedding on the amazing grounds during our stay. We chose our food every day and our fabulous chef prepared what ever we desired with a few traditional Sri Lankan dishes thrown in. Day trips to various sights and places met our expectation and more. 2.5-3 hours to the Airport but still a positive to be out of the hustle and bustle and sights to see along the way. Go and visit you wont be disappointed.
10/10Our staying was absolutely amazing. From our arrival to the end everything was perfect. The location is terrific, the rooms are spacious and clean, the garden is big and very well maintained with lots of birds and fruit trees (in the early morning lots of monkeys came and played around). We had dinner every night and chef Gamage was exceptional. He cooked every day something really typical and delicious... He was outstanding. It doesn't come really cheap but for me it's worth every penny. Last but not least the pool was incredible, clean and the perfect place to relax or have fun with friends. I truly recommend the villa to everyone who wants to relax in Mirissa. It's 3 minutes walking from the beach.
10/10I would go back in a heartbeat! My boyfriend and (both mid 20s) stayed her for two nights as part of a longer trip around Sri Lanka and this was by far the best place we stayed at. We were extremely lucky to be staying at the house on our own, which was a real treat. Everything is absolutely perfect - the pool, the house, the garden, the wildlife, the staff. The beach is only about 2min walk away and it is also beautiful.
10/10An enclave of luxury and tranquility. Three of us (mums) with our three 10 year old sons spent 12 nights in this stylish, beautiful villa. The owners retained and restored many of the original features and at the same time ensured that the property is equipped in all the mod cons bar tv and as such ... the boys played football and explored the extensive grounds, splashed in the large swimming pool and spent all day on the nearby beach braving the huge waves. The beach is only 3 min walk from the property. The chef was excellent. He treated us to delicious Sri Lankan and modern European dishes all cooked daily from fresh local produce. Ironica, the ever smiley housekeeper ensured that the house was spotless. Both spoke good English. The management organised regular yoga sessions for us on the beautiful veranda overlooking the gardens and the pool. Tuk tuks or taxis were on standby if we wanted to explore the area or go further afield eg to Galle Fort. I cannot fault this place. The beds were very comfortable, the bed linen pure cotton, the bathrooms spacious with power showers. I loved the fact that there was no air-con. No need for that as the villa's high ceilings and fans in each bedroom and throughout the house ensured a refreshing breeze and made the stay so much more authentic. Highly, highly recommended.
10/10Just about to leave Siri Wedamadura after two weeks and we're feeling rather emotional. It's truly an amazing place to stay, with fantastic staff and animals (especially Mango the dog). We all feel very relaxed, and will definitely be back soon! The house is beautifully decorated with lovely antique furniture from mainly local sources, creating an incredibly calm atmosphere. Gamage the chef is truly talented and every meal was divine (we want to take him with us... as well as Mango). We are truly saddened to be leaving such a fantastic place, but we are leaving relaxed, cultured and tanned. Many thanks to all who made Siri Wedamadura such a special place in such a special country. Nat Lukes & co.
