10/1041 Lighthouse Street is a private villa run by Fort Bazaar Hotel in Galle Fort. It's a beautifully modernised old house that has loads of character. There are 3 en suite bedrooms and a large amount of lounge and living space, and of course the private pool. A fantastic breakfast is provided daily. What makes it truly exceptional are the staff - they are friendly, attentive and very helpful. It's a wonderful place for a family holiday.
10/10Beautiful, heritage villa right in the centre of Galle Fort. Amazing service, location and facilities including a private swimming pool and pool table. Lovely breakfast and they even supplied a birthday cake for my daughter, and organised a walking tour with a local archaeologist. Highly recommended!
10/10When I booked 41 Lighthouse, I knew it would be a special experience—but the stay exceeded every expectation. The villa is absolutely stunning, one of the rare few with a private pool inside the Fort. What truly made it exceptional, though, was the impeccable service and heartfelt care from Ruwan. For example, we wanted to try our hand at a game of pool and noticed that one of the cues was missing its tip. Without hesitation, Ruwan contacted Fort Bazaar and had it fixed within 10 minutes. That kind of attentiveness and responsiveness really stood out. One of the highlights of our trip was a personal tour of Galle Fort with Taranga, an archaeologist whose deep knowledge and passion brought the history of the place to life. It was an unforgettable experience. We loved every moment of our two-day stay and can’t wait to return!
10/10The place looks even more beautiful than the photos. Wonderful location and the grand house is maintained exceptionally well. The rooms were big, each with its ensuite and very clean. Each part of the house has beautiful old Dutch architecture. Friendly staff; a big thank you to Ruwan for looking after us so well and accomodating all our needs.
10/10Exceptional
10/10Amazing private villa We travelled with friends and have just returned from a two week trip around the island of Sri Lanka. We, unfortunately, were only able to stay one night at this truely incredible villa, and have returned feeling that we could have stayed a lot longer if our itineraries had allowed. Situated right in the middle of the Fort area, you enter into what appears to be a very ordinary little house from the street (a little tricky to find) but when you walk in, the house opens into an oasis with a beautifully appointed entry with light-wells, a pool table, television lounge, dining area with its own bar (which has a bar fridge, but not the alcohol!), out through to a private courtyard with it's own pool. There are three large bedrooms, all with ensures, one bedroom is on the ground floor which opens onto the pool and garden area and two upstairs which open onto a balcony which overlooks the pool. The staff were very helpful, especially Juanita - quite unusual as a woman working in this industry in Sri Lanka. Galle itself was so interesting, incredible shops, a lovely restaurant just a couple of houses down the street and everything within walking distance in an area where you felt very safe.
10/10A Wonderful Oasis in the centre of Galle Fort On arrival at No.41 we were amazed by the style and space of the property. It is just wonderful. The facilities matched the style, the private central pool providing a relaxing centre to the house. The accommodation was very comfortable and our stay made perfect by Wanita and her colleague, both of whom really looked after us. The location was excellent for exploring Galle old town, everything being within walking distance. We look forward to returning one day, thanks.
10/10Wow! Don’t hesitate, just book it. You won’t regret it. It’s in an unbeatable location within Galle Fort, walking distance to the lighthouse, groceries, f & b and shops. The building itself has so much character, with a beautifully designed interior to match and an incredible team of impressive staff. The best part was you could order from the main Fort Bazaar restaurant & hotel, but dine in your villa - which was a huge win for us as a family with two children under 5 years old. One of our all-time favourite Airbnb’s to date. We will 100% stay here again.
9/10Everything was great, service, friendly staff, food. Even for a fussy vegetarian. !!! Excellent location near perfect scenery and nearby shopping yet very quiet at night. be aware Galle fort area virtually closes about 10pm. GALLE is very laid back so you may have to ask twice for things and information about local activities but that's part of the charm. Credit cards are usually surcharged 3% extra.
10/10This house is a gem. The location was fantastic and we spent the time exploring the streets full of interesting shops the 3 days we were there. It was only 10 minutes walk to the fishing village and we bought fish for dinner as we watched the boats coming up to shore. My daughter enjoyed the pool and the chef cooked us very interesting meals. The two dogs were very friendly and added to the homely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this accomodation
10/10Absolute luxury. Brilliant location and extremely helpful and diligent staff. Great cooking - be sure to stay in and get your meals cooked. You won't want to leave!
