The location is unrivalled. A perfect skinny strip on one of the country's best beaches. The staff were incredible throughout, from home-cooked meals to Christmas decorating while we were out (a really special touch). The downfalls are minor; window seals are non-existent (presumably due to wood warp in the summer heat) giving easy access to some bugs and road noise, and the deck's wood is rotted/weakened in areas. It was expensive per night given the time of year, but for what we got, it was worth it. We truly had one of our best visits to Sri Lanka (of at least 10) yet, and that's thanks to Skinny Beach House.

Incredible beach house on Dalawella beach! The house is beautifully designed with multiple levels; when you sit at the breakfast table it feels as though the sea is swirling right outside. High ceilings means the house stays cool as the breeze from the sea comes through. From the outside deck the beach is literally at your feet! Soft sand and beautiful clear water. As the beach is away from the main tourist town of Unawatuna, it's much quieter with less tourists - it feels more private. There are only a few restaurants here, though we preferred to make our own lunch omelettes in the house. Bedrooms and living room are comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bed is perfectly soft, we slept so well! Hot water showers that are spacious, and a balcony on the main bedroom overlooking the sea. There's a small plunge pool outside, perfect for a dip after swimming in the sea or lying in the sun. Breakfast is excellent. We enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast of egg hoppers, string hoppers, dhal, curry and fresh fruits. Good coffee too. Definitely recommend trying it! The house is just a tuk tuk ride away from the lovely Galle town, Unawatuna which has more restaurants and bars, and Weligama for good surfing and a different beach scene. Don't miss this beach house!
