10/10Exceptional is the name of this review and exceptional is this place ..where to start? This early 20th century colonial bungalow with 21st century style and amenities set on the tea plantation is stylish and comfortable I was half expecting to hear Noel coward or Cole porter being played on a gramophone as we sipped g and T’s in the lounge. And the food was simply heavenly. (Try the green pea and cashew nut curry) Thank you to the staff for treating us so well, they are all warm and professional and made us feel so pampered we were reluctant to leave. It is worth just spending time here in the gardens…simply blissful!
10/10This is probably the best boutique hotel we have stayed in. Accommodation, location, food, team and facilities were first class. Totally recommend. Faultless. Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful three nights. We hope to return.
10/10From the moment we arrived Kasun and the team made us so welcome, Kasun has such a bubbly and friendly personality you can’t help but feel immediately at home. We were here for 2 nights and loved it all. We were in the Ella Rock Suite which was, quite frankly, too big for us but we loved the indulgence. There are only 5 rooms, you have dinner altogether but separate tables on the terrace and can choose the time you want to eat and the lounge area is a lovely place to relax with a drink before and / or after dinner. We decided to do a walk from the hotel to Ella along part of the Pekoe trail, taking in the tea plantation and the Nine Arches bridge as well as many other attractions. Kasun provided us with a phone and walking app to show us the way, leech socks, antiseptic (should we be attacked by leeches - we weren’t) and water. You can choose to do this by yourselves (we did) or the hotel will arrange for a guide for you. The hotel itself is warm and inviting and every single member of staff was excellent. We didn’t catch everyone’s names but want to thank Kasun (obviously), Suraj, Udaru & Chula. When we come back to Sri Lanka we will be coming back to Nine Skies.
10/10There’s little more to add to the wonderful and fully deserved reviews that have gone before. It is a fantastic property, not a hotel but a guest house, in a marvellous location. Although expensive, it is good value, particularly due to the all inclusive; food, drinks, laundry and even the interesting tea estate visit. Combine this with the Amangalla in Galle for a memorable few days!
10/10This was our 4th visit to Nine Skies. We stayed in our favourite room - Welimada. The location of the bungalow is wonderful and we had a beautiful view from our terrace. We love everything about this bungalow including the terrace where we enjoyed all our meals. What makes a stay here supremely relaxing is the delightful and helpful staff. We were made to feel very welcome by Suraj who checked on us regularly. The butler who looked after us was the very personable and efficient Udara. A highlight was the cookery demonstration with chef Roshan. We were impressed by the quality and freshness of all the ingredients, many of which were grown in the garden. Great stay! Until the next time.
10/10Incredible property set high above Ella in Demodara. The 360 views of the surrounding hills and mountains are spectacular. The entire experience is one of calm and relaxation. The staff are excellent, and unfailingly polite. The food quality and service are exceptional. Our bedroom was spacious and well equipped. A truly first class experience. 100% recommended.
10/10This hotel is literally a dream come true - the staff are all excellent and the food is outrageously good! An amazing part of an amazing Sri Lanka adventure - this place is the most wonderful place to stay! If you get the chance to go here, you must, the peace is next level!
10/10Nine Skies is the definition of boutique luxury. It is a small hotel with only 5 rooms and the service we received from all the staff was truly so personable this really felt like a home away from home. The design of the whole hotel is beautiful with a wonderful living room, with a cosy fire in the evenings, and our suite room was beautiful with a terrace. The pool has an amazing view over the tea plantation. All the meals we had were delicious. Our host was very friendly and helpful, organising day trips for us and setting up our own table with lots of candles for dinner by the pool one evening, and also set up our own private breakfast at a look out point which were both lovely experiences. This hotel is brilliant if you want a very quiet, secluded spot in the Hill Country with excellent service and food. It is an expensive hotel but it is worth the money.
10/10Extremely beautiful, lovely design and very relaxing

10/10Amazing stay! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was peaceful, relaxing and like a small sanctuary in the tea region. Walking in the are was stunning. The food was one of the best parts of our stay. All the Sri Lankan meals were delicious.
