Blue Parrot Beach Villa is het soort luxe vakantieverblijf in Ambalangoda waar je je koffers neerzet en meteen op blote voeten naar het water loopt. De villa ligt direct aan het strand, met een laag stenen muurtje en de Indische Oceaan die vanaf het eerste moment al je aandacht opeist.
Binnen heerst een rustige, kustachtige sfeer: witte muren, warm hout en een eenvoudige indeling die rechtstreeks naar de zee toe loopt. Het is een gezinsvriendelijke vakantiebasis die privé, ontspannen en aangenaam overzichtelijk aanvoelt, zodat je minder tijd kwijt bent aan het ‘huishouden’ en meer tijd hebt om van Ambalangoda te genieten zoals het hoort.
Deze vakantiewoning in Ambalangoda heeft twee slaapkamers, beide ontworpen om heerlijk uit te slapen, met luchtig wit beddengoed en houten hemelbedden omhuld met muskietennetten. Kleine details zoals bedlampjes en bloemblaadjes zorgen voor een gezellige sfeer zonder dat het te overdreven wordt.
Eén kamer is voorzien van een eenvoudig bureau en een stoel, handig als je even een paar e-mails moet versturen voordat je weer aan je belangrijkste taak begint: naar de oceaan staren. De sfeer is fris en luchtig, met ingelijste kunstwerken en hoge plafonds die ervoor zorgen dat de kamers koel en ontspannen blijven, zelfs na een hele dag zwemmen in het zoute water van Ambalangoda.
De buitenruimte is het grote pronkstuk van Blue Parrot Beach Villa, en dat is volkomen terecht. Je beschikt over een terras direct aan het strand, een zanderige ontspanningsruimte en een compact zwembad met uitzicht op de oceaan, zodat je tijdens je ‘zwembaddag’ toch kunt genieten van de golven en de horizon.
Er staan ligstoelen opgesteld om van de zon te genieten, plus een schaduwrijk dagbed in cabana-stijl vlak bij het strand, ideaal om 's middags lekker te dommelen. Naarmate het licht verandert, verandert de hele ruimte van helderblauwe ochtenden naar zachte zonsondergangtinten, waardoor je luxe vakantie in Ambalangoda verandert in een zeer fotogenieke routine van zwemmen, nippen, herhalen.
Binnen heerst er in de Blue Parrot Beach Villa een ontspannen en praktische sfeer, met een luchtige woonruimte die is ingericht met kleurrijk gestreepte banken en comfortabele houten meubels. Brede deuren geven direct toegang tot het terras, waardoor het uitzicht op zee deel uitmaakt van de kamer, en niet alleen iets is waar je later naartoe gaat.
De keuken is compact en sfeervol, afgewerkt met natuursteen, houten kasten en open planken voor borden en kopjes. Het is een comfortabele ruimte voor een gezinsvakantie, en dankzij de wifi kun je de kustlijn van Ambalangoda eenvoudig in realtime delen, of gewoon een afspeellijst streamen en genieten van de rust.
Een verblijf in Blue Parrot Beach Villa biedt precies die ongedwongen ondersteuning die je tijdens een strandvakantie zoekt: de schoonmaakdienst houdt alles netjes terwijl jij je kunt concentreren op zwemmen, lezen en bedenken hoe laat een tweede ontbijt acceptabel is. Het voelt als een luxe extraatje omdat je dagen heerlijk ongestructureerd blijven.
Voor je gemoedsrust is er camerabewaking, wat geruststellend is wanneer je Ambalangoda gaat verkennen of gewoon als een kampioen achter die horren ligt te slapen. Als je hulp nodig hebt bij het plannen van de rest van je vakantie in Ambalangoda, kan het Villa Finder Concierge-team je helpen met extra's zoals luchthaventransfers, autoverhuur en andere lokale vakantiediensten.
Je bent letterlijk een steenworp verwijderd van het strand, zo’n 25 meter verderop, wat in de praktijk betekent dat je van je kopje koffie naar de kust kunt lopen voordat je toast koud wordt. Ambalangoda zelf ligt ook dichtbij, op ongeveer 1,3 km, dus je kunt even het stadje in om boodschappen te doen en het ontspannen lokale leven te proeven, zonder de rust aan zee op te geven.
Voor een kort uitstapje ligt de Urawatte Sea Turtle Hatchery op ongeveer 372 meter afstand, een geweldig uitje voor gezinnen en iedereen die graag bezienswaardigheden bezoekt in combinatie met natuurbehoud. Als het tijd is voor het avondeten, ga dan naar Ozone Restaurant & Cafe (ongeveer 1,8 km) en laat de avond op zijn best verlopen, op zijn Ambalangoda-wijze.
9.8/10We had an amazing family holiday and the villa is in a perfect location away from the over commercialised beaches but still close enough to everything. We loved the location with the beach just outside your doorstep, watching local fisherman especially. The villa has character and is very comfortably set up with everything you need. The best aspect was having our lovely dinner prepared by staff at the villa while watching the beautiful sunset over the sea. Everything was taken are of at the villa by the staff and the food prepared for us was lovely. They went beyond all expectations doing things for our kids especially. They provided a fantastic birthday cake for our son's eighth birthday and made it a memorable occasion. Sudath was very helpful with recommendations and suggestions and an impeccable host. We had an amazing family holiday and our kids loved it, we will definitely be back. Can't recommend this villa or host enough.
10/10We were there for two weeks and we could really relax there! The beach is wonderful and nobody will disturb you. We were two families with children and therefore it was a perfect fit with the two luxury and well equiped houses.... Our family booked the Blue Parrot Villa.... There are Ladys who make you free breakfast and we enjoyed it at the great terrace in front of the beach.They cooked and washed for us. We loved to use the service that they offered tasty meals for small money for lunch and dinner! They really care about you and not to forget they keep it very clean. The manager Sudath is a nice guy who can give you advice for tours nearby (ask about the laguna tour) and he knows a solution for every problem. Our children loved to play at the white sandy beach and we really enjoyed to swim in the warm ocean, this was what we were looking for..... It was a unforgettable holiday and we will come back soon in this little paradise!
10/10My family and I stayed here some time ago. I never got around to writing a review about this place. From pick up the airport right to the end of our vacation all was fantastic. The decor in the bungalow is very tasteful. It has two bedrooms with AC. Both bedrooms adjoin to the bathroom. The terrace just as you walk out the main entrance is an excellent place to sit in the evening and watch the sun set. Listen to the ocean, talk, play board games, read. It has great WiFi and the added benefit if you have a mobile with a local number...when our credit ran down; a quick message to Sudath and we could call again within minutes. The food. We had breakfast each morning. Bread. Eggs (fried or scrambled) lots of fruit bananas, pineapple and melon. Toast. Coffee and tea. This was served around 8.30 to 9am. We also had dinner in the evening. Mostly fish or chicken curry with rice. The price for dinner was very reasonable. The food was always hot to warm. Never ever cold. The on site security and staff were polite and couteous. So what makes this place work so well? The price is very reasonable for the great service you get. For example on a full moon day you are informed the night before that if you want chicken or meat you should make the order because on full moon day many places don't sell meat. Secondly, it's how it's all presented and completed right down to the cleaning of the house. You never feel imposed upon. I stayed in one other place but in comparison I would not hesitate to book here again. It's great for a family 2 kids. Also what I liked a lot was the house book. In the house book you can find information about transport costs, ordering dinner etc. Everything is clearly presented. What else can I say? Communication with Sudath was very easy, by email and whatsapp. In addition, Manju (tuk tuk driver). With local phone from Sudath we could explore Galle and many other places and then just call Manju and he would pick us up. For sure we always told Manju approx time and we would call him 30 or 40mins before we planned to leave.
