This is the most amazing place I have ever stayed! The view of the reservoir with the zero level pool is something you cannot explain. The chef made the most incredible food each meal- from a perfectly spiced pasta to traditional Sri Lankan cuisine - wow is all I can say. A MUST if you love a quiet and sophisticated get away. Stayed in Feb 2022 with my family and had a great 02 night's stay. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Our room on the first floor was stylish and spacious with individual furnishings, wooden floors, and nice artwork. Three Villa bedrooms are very spacious and very comfortable. The best thing is all three rooms are overlooking the Lake and mountains. The staff and the manager were very supportive and friendly. They are in CAN-DO ATTITUDE. There is also a jacuzzi in the garden which we used and is very secluded. A golf club is within easy walking distance.

This place is a beautiful haven of understated luxury. All the good things with a relaxed and welcoming feel. The staff are great. The view is superb. Lovely local walks. Stunning golf course if you're into golf. And the infinity pool is so relaxing! Had a totally brilliant time staying here for our Honeymoon.

Bougainvillea Retreat is about a 45 minute drive from the city of Kandy and literally took our breath away on arrival. The setting though isolated is amazing - peaceful and gorgeous with nothing in sight as far as you see. Beautiful gardens an infinity swimming pool with a view that makes you want to sigh! The rooms on the poolside with their balconies looking out to that spectacular view. Food was delicious: from the home-made bread and preserves at breakfast to excellent dinners, our stay there was everything you could wish for from a beautiful retreat and many thanks to Pi and her team.

My family and I stayed here for a few nights and we felt so relaxed and comfortable here. My young boys (6 & 8) loved swimming in the gorgeous infinity pool and running around the gardens with the gorgeous puppy! The DVD selection is endless and they enjoyed watching a movie or two at night. There is also a pool table which my husband and I enjoyed! Pi the manager was very approachable and could recommend great things to do and see. The staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed meals here too - we woke up to a gorgeous breakfast setting. And we ended up eating here every night as it was fresh, delicious and so reasonable (compared to the local restaurants outside!). There is a pizza oven which makes amazing pizzas. The rooms were very comfortable, kept clean and tastefully decorated. Our family would look forward to coming back to the retreat after a day's outing as we felt so at home here!
