South Point Surf House

This house was airy and very pleasant. The bedrooms were comfortable with good quality linen. They are private from the social areas of the house which was lovely. The pool is large and very clean - a great place for the children to play and for us to take a dip. The property is staffed and so we enjoyed breakfasts being cooked and served for us. We had friendly help when we needed it.

We had a wonderful stay at South Point Surf House. Lovely enclosed garden with pool which was ideal for small children. Good location within easy distance of Weligama and Unawatuna for trips out. Excellent house staff who were always very accommodating and the food was fantastic. Seafood platter was a particular favourite. Sonali was an excellent host who as always available and very kindly sent cakes for the children. Can’t recommend this villa enough

Had a wonderful 3 nights in the villa. We were coolly greeted, everything was clean, the villa is really cozy and beautiful, cool for gatherings in the evening with friends. The staff is super, you could ask for drinks at any time, and we ordered a delicious English breakfast, which we did not regret. We were also allowed to relax during the day at the neighboring beach villa, the view on the ocean is amazing. It is important to note that there are only a couple of restaurants nearby, but there was no problem to take a tuk tuk 3km to the cactus and other places. Nearby was also a cool surf spot with a sand. I wanted to sincerely thank the team for such a pleasant experience, I would definitely recommend.

We loved our stay at South Point Surf House. The flat grass area at the front was great for the very young children in our large party and the pool stayed nice and cool. The staff were really attentive and lovely - particular mention to Sahan the chef, whose cooking was amazing, Anji, who was always so helpful and Anil. Sonali was very kind to allow us to use a larger villa on the beachfront when it was available and for our Christmas celebrations. The beach directly over the road from the villa is very beautiful and peaceful but quite rocky for swimming but there is the wonderful Kabalana beach 2 minutes Tuk Tuk away for surfing, body boarding and better swimming. The train to Galle is a 5 minute walk away. The area is very quiet but Ahangama is very close and has beach bars and restaurants. The road to cross to get to the beach is very busy but it is manageable and the villa team will help you to cross whenever they can.

I was looking for a property that would be able to accommodate over 30 people flying in from all over the world for our company gathering and came across the South Point Villas and booked the Surf Lodge as part of the booking. From the initial communication Sonali was always very responsive and proactive. The Lodge is very private and the grounds are constantly maintained and were immaculate at all times. The star of the show are the staff at the villas, they are the kindest group of people who were a joy to get to know. We had an amazing week and a large part of this was down to the team and the beautiful surroundings, I wouldn't hesitate to book again

One of the best experiences! We went with 8 adults and 1 infant to South Point Surf House Staff: From the very first call to inquire about to location we were greeted with utmost professionalism. They understand their customers so well. They even went to the extent of providing a cot for the baby. Gamini (the manager) greeted us at the gate ( he was also worried when we got a bit late to arrive) and constantly checked if we needed anything. Anil who was handling maintenance ensured we were comfortable in every way! Even helped us with the BBQ. Mali the cook and her daughters were also friendly and ever so helpful. In our many years of traveling we have not come across such helpful staff - They are the the definition of true Sri Lankan Hospitality. Facilities: The location was clean and well maintained. The pool was a blessing on a hot April afternoon. Location: We were allowed to spend the evenings at the beach front villa. The almost private beach and the settled sea was an amazing experience. My favorite attraction was Randy and Niko, the resident Dobermanns! For a few pets they will pay fetch and accompany you where ever you go.
