Le South Point Cottage est une maison de vacances merveilleusement tropicale située juste à côté du magnifique lac de Koggala et à seulement 5 minutes de route de la plage, dans le sud du Sri Lanka. Un rêve devenu réalité pour les familles ou les couples à la recherche d'une escapade de vacances tropicale isolée pour se détendre et se relaxer complètement avec des vues à couper le souffle sur le lac Koggala.
La chambre principale occupe tout le premier étage du South Point Cottage et est contiguë à deux balcons où vous pourrez trouver le calme et la tranquillité, en lisant un livre ou en contemplant simplement la vue sur le lac. La chambre est meublée d'un grand lit king-size à baldaquin drapé d'une moustiquaire blanche pour une nuit de sommeil parfaite. Pour vous divertir, vous disposez d'une télévision par satellite avec lecteur DVD et d'un système de musique. La salle de bains attenante est spacieuse et pendant que vous vous rincez sous la douche à effet de pluie chaud/froid, vous pouvez toujours contempler la vue sur le lac à travers une grande fenêtre.
La villa abrite deux autres chambres climatisées situées au rez-de-chaussée. La chambre Lake View dispose d'un grand lit double et la chambre Garden View dispose de deux lits jumeaux et d'un lit superposé, ce qui en fait la chambre idéale pour les enfants. Les deux chambres disposent d'une salle de bains privative avec douche chaude/froide pour se détendre après avoir passé la journée à nager dans le lac ou dans la mer.

Le jardin est tout à fait tropical et paisible, avec un accès direct au lac depuis une jetée privée en bois, qui constitue un endroit idéal pour prendre un petit-déjeuner matinal en toute intimité ou regarder le coucher du soleil en partageant une bouteille de vin blanc bien fraîche. Le jardin comprend également une piscine en forme de triangle et une vaste pelouse manucurée ombragée par d'imposants palmiers, parfaite pour faire courir les enfants et pour organiser une fête intime dans le jardin avec de délicieux snacks et boissons. Les chaises longues sont placées de manière à ce que vous puissiez profiter de la vue sur le lac tout en travaillant votre bronzage.
Le South Point Cottage adopte un style de vie tropical doux, avec la véranda et le jardin comme centre commun de la villa, où l'on vit et où l'on dîne. Le pavillon est entouré d'une végétation tropicale luxuriante et donne sur le lac. Il y a de nombreux endroits agréables pour s'asseoir et profiter de la vue magique tout en sirotant une boisson fraîche. Vous pouvez également garder un œil sur les enfants qui jouent dans la piscine tout en lisant un livre dans le coin salon ou en savourant un repas à la table du restaurant en plein air.
Le South Point Cottage dispose d'un personnel amical qui s'occupe de vous et rend votre séjour encore plus agréable. Le ménage est fait pour vous, un chef cuisinier peut être arrangé et la nuit, un service de sécurité veille sur votre sécurité. Le directeur est toujours disponible pour répondre à vos questions et à vos demandes spéciales. Le personnel peut également organiser des massages ayurvédiques ou des cours d'art dans la villa, sur demande.
Le South Point Cottage est situé dans un village rural tranquille, entouré de plantations de cannelle et du lac où vous pouvez aller pêcher ou faire du canoë. La plage n'est qu'à 10 minutes à pied et vous trouverez également de bons restaurants dans les environs. Pour vous imprégner de culture, visitez le musée Martin Wickramasinghe, où vous pourrez voir des costumes de danse, des vêtements, des instruments, des armes et des véhicules traditionnels. Il faut 15 minutes pour se rendre à l'aéroport domestique de Koggala et 3,5 heures de route pour rejoindre l'aéroport international du Sri Lanka à Colombo.
10/10We are regular visitors to Sri Lanka and have been to South Point Villa few times. Reason for us keep coming back to this magical place is because we find it the best on the South Coast of Sri Lanka. As you enter the premises first thing that strikes you is the 180 degree breathtaking ocean views. Villa is tastefully decorated with antiques, beautiful paintings and local furniture that reflex the Sri Lankan heritage. There are three large bedrooms with all amenities provided, comfort level here is very high, to be precise 5/5. King beds in the rooms are very comfortable and you are sure to get a goodnight’s sleep. Manager, chef and other staff are wonderful, they are kind helpful and efficient, nothing is too much trouble for them. The meals they serve are delicious, all you need to do is let them know what your favourite dishes are. Whether it’s Sri Lankan curries or western dishes they will make it for you and you will love it. Owner and the staff of South Point Villa take customer service and customer satisfaction very seriously. That reflects on everything they provide for you during your stay here. Highlight of our holiday was sitting on the back terrace overlooking the ocean, enjoying a cold beer and watching the amazing sunset and the stilt fishermen in action which is unique to Sri Lanka. Our stay at South Point Villa was memorable so without any hesitation we can recommend this villa for your next holiday and you certainly won’t be disappointed.
10/10A hidden jewel on the beach. This villa exudes old world charm, service and understated comfort which the discerning visitor will appreciate. The staff are friendly and extremely capable. The villa itself has been restored with attention to Dutch-roots and with a nod to subtle, yet current essential holiday additions-WiFi, access to a varied on-site menu, guides to local & accessible services (which can be organised on-site) making this a solid choice. This is not a music thumping, all singing & dancing kind of villa. It is, a classic melody-one that has, and will continue to stand the test of time.
10/10We had a wonderful time staying at south point cottage, we had a driver bring us from Kirinda to Koggala. The property manager - Gamini spoke with our driver in the morning and arranged to meet us on the way. we were greeted with fresh juice and moist towels which was a nice touch and introduced to the staff. All staff at the Villa looked after us so well whilst staying at arms length allowing us to feel that we had some privacy whilst we were there. We had several meals whilst we were there and this was some of the best food that we had on our entire trip. Initially we were a little concerned that we had gone a little over the top hiring such a large villa just for two of us, however our time was amazing and we would definitely do it again, and are even discussing when we might return!! We went on the complimentary boat trip on the lake which was good fun and our transfers back to the airport were arranged by Gamini, the driver was excellent and arrived early for us, it was also about $20usd cheaper than arranging through private hire companies etc. Highly recommend the entire experience and we will be returning again. Many thanks to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable!!
10/10This is a peaceful, relaxing environment and the level of customer service is superb. The staff has an uncanny ability to anticipate your every need and then some. You have the opportunity to do as much or as little as you want. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants somewhere to unwind or get away from it all.
10/10My family spent a relaxing week at the cottage, using the pool, fishing on the lake and the odd visit around the area. Property and staff excellent. If you want a relaxing and peaceful holiday this is the place for you.
10/10Stay here. You just must! This is a very peaceful location, away from the tourist crowds of seafront locations. There is plenty of nature to see if you sit and read on the upstairs balcony - monkeys, birds, squirrels and even eagles! We stayed for 4 nights and were looked after beautifully by the staff. We ate delicious food, which was better than any other place we went in Galle, and never wanted for anything. The staff will put you in touch with local tuk tuk drivers who speak excellent english and will act as a tour guide if you wish. We hope to return here some day and make more wonderful memories.
