Construida en 1912 por el hijo del rico propietario de una plantación para cortejar al amor de su vida, Halala Kanda House o Firefly Hill es ahora una lujosa finca con años de historia entre sus muros. Abandonada y en ruinas hasta que recobró su antiguo esplendor, la finca evoca la arquitectura colonial de Sri Lanka con extensos jardines, arquitectura totalmente blanca con columnas y una magnífica piscina. Halala Kanda House está situada cerca de la costa sur, cerca de la histórica ciudad de Galle. Es una casa de campo de seis dormitorios adecuada para una familia con niños.
La Casa Halala Kanda fue diseñada para grandes grupos de viajeros para que usted y sus invitados puedan relajarse cómodamente. La finca ofrece seis suites que incluyen dos suites con veranda, dos suites de lujo con jardines privados amurallados y dos suites dobles con acceso al salón. 10/10We had an incredible stay at Halala Kanda. The house is very well designed - traditional with the amenities needed to make it comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and the chef fed us some great Sri Lankan delicacies. It exceeded all our expectations, and we’ll definitely be back. I would highly recommend this house for a group holiday. P.s. just be mindful that the house is 5 bedrooms and not 6 (as advertised currently). My understanding is that there have been changes based on a recent re-design, and this is not reflected on the listing yet. It caused a minor headache for us but nothing that took anything away from the overall experience.

10/10The villa is absolutely stunning and the layout convivial as there is a large courtyard around which the rooms, the kitchen and dining area. The staff is professional and kind, we had a great time and the food is stunning. We requested all vegan local Singhalese food and every dish was perfect, delicious and healthy. The villa is located a short Tuk Tuk drive from Weligama and offers serenity and privacy. Can't wait till next time!
10/10A truly 5* villa where we had a wonderful relaxing week as a family party of 11 aged from 84 to 11 years old over Christmas. The villa is tastefully restored with many special details. We hardly left the house as it was all so idyllic with plenty of space for everyone. The pool is beautiful, as are the grounds. All the bedrooms have super comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. The chef is superb and will feed you until you can eat no more. All the staff were smiley and friendly and could not do enough for us. Easy trip from Colombo airport (2 1/2) ours and lots of places nearby to visit - Galle, beaches, turtles etc. We would highly recommend it.
10/10The Perfect Holiday for Family and Friends A perfect Gem. It was the perfect holiday for the family as well as for our friends. Halala Kanda had a WOW character and the children can’t get enough. We were greeted with the most hospitable and amazing staffs, incredible menu selection as well as the perfect ambience and greenery that surrounds the villa. The staffs were extremely wonderful and such a joy to be with. All of them made all of our children enjoy their every moment in the villa; from climbing the coconut tree, to making cinnamons, visiting the temples, playing with them and much more. The kids definitely misses this place as well as everyone that’s there and we will definitely come back again. A BIG Thank you to everyone in Halala Kanda for making our family holiday spectacular and we hope to see you all soon!
10/10Staying at Halala Kanda is a wonderful experience. The house is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the atmosphere is beyond lovely. The amazing full-time staff there make it a luxurious vacation retreat.
10/10Luxury and serenity at once! This was our first time staying at Halala Kanda and we were absolutely 'Wowed'! The villa is stunningly restored, the pool perfect and bedrooms and bedding the height of luxury. We loved the gardens full of tea bushes, cashew trees and cinnamon. The views over the surrounding valley were blissful and the distant sounds of the Buddhist temple were literally heavenly. The staff were perfect - not too intrusive, but there as and when we needed them. The food - especially the breakfasts were incredible!
10/10If you have discovered this villa, don't even think twice, just go ahead and book it. I have to say I have stayed in a lot of places worldwide but nothing compares to this villa. It was straight out of a magazine, so beautiful that everyone was in love when they arrived. On top of that, the service was impeccable, the staff was attentive, always smiling and doing their best to make us happy. The rooms are humongous and clean. The beds don't let you leave their comfort, the pool is the perfect length for those much-needed laps, music speakers present all over the house let you play music wherever you may be chilling, the local food prepared by the chef is scrumptious, anything you need is handled by the staff with utmost urgency and professionalism. I can't recommend this place enough. A true gem waiting for you. Thank you guys, you made our holiday perfect :)
