Straight out of a postcard, the grey-theme continues into the bedrooms at Taru Villas. First, we have the master bedroom with a king-sized, four-poster bed fitted with modern amenities like TV, air-conditioning, wi-fi, etc. With glass doors and large windows, this whimsical bedroom is delightfully comforting to be in, especially if you're looking for an intimate escape. The calming tones and underlying theme of the bedroom will ensure a good night's rest. The master bedroom boats access to a private outdoor area fitted with a plunge pool! There is an en-suite bathroom as well with necessary amenities.
There are three double, en-suite bedrooms in the main house and two in the pool house. The sea-view room offers a stunning vantage point to enjoy a pleasant scenery, the veranda room leads to the gardens, and the pool house bedrooms have their own fully-furnished and comfy living area. Each bedroom is furnished with king-sized beds and has en-suite bathrooms. Other two bedrooms are in Kurumba House. Each features a plush double bed with canopy netting, sea vistas, air conditioned interiors, writing desk, armchair and attached en suite.

Una finca que se encuentra al final de una carretera de arena, Taru Villas presume de una amplia zona ajardinada que está llena de follaje natural y densas arboledas que dan sombra al suelo. Túmbese apoyado en el tronco de un árbol, lea un libro, dé un paseo por los jardines o relájese en la terraza de la piscina para pasar un buen día al sol. Las piscinas privadas son otro gran lugar común para relajarse, ya que se puede nadar y hasta jugar a juegos de agua con otros huéspedes. Hay tumbonas para descansar y tomar el sol para los huéspedes.

La sala de estar principal de Taru Villas presenta techos intrincados tradicionales, una impresionante vista del océano y una cuidada decoración. La iluminación tenue, el techo abovedado y los tonos blancos o grises añaden un ambiente acogedor y hogareño a la sala, haciéndola más acogedora y relajante. Los sofás grises y afelpados, los armarios antiguos, las mesas auxiliares de madera y la lujosa decoración te obligan a sentirte totalmente descansado entre estas paredes, mientras te recuestas en el sofá y ves películas o la televisión en la pantalla plana. Todo el mundo puede reunirse en la sala de estar para una noche de bebidas y aperitivos para una buena manera de terminar el día!
Con un magnífico suelo de mármol y un techo de gran altura, la zona de comedor con ventilador de Taru Villas es magnífica, con una mesa de comedor de madera antigua para diez comensales, decorada con estilo y cristal. Con vistas al océano, podrá disfrutar de una abundante comida en este espléndido entorno. La cocina está totalmente equipada y cuenta con todas las comodidades modernas para su uso. La casa de la piscina cuenta con una zona de estar privada con cómodos sofás, televisión y otras comodidades.
Los interiores de Kurumba House se describen mejor como contemporáneos, despejados y acogedores, justo para crear un ambiente acogedor en una casa de vacaciones junto al mar. Sumérjase en el ambiente tropical mientras se relaja en la zona común al aire libre. El espacio se completa con sofás, una mesa de centro, un sofá cama y un juego de comedor. Los ventiladores de techo mantienen la zona fresca y con brisa, y una selección de obras de arte de buen gusto añade toques de color a la combinación de colores neutros. Las comidas se pueden preparar en la cocina de estilo occidental totalmente equipada.

Las lujosas Taru Villas cuentan con todos los servicios y con un equipo de profesionales que se ocupan de los huéspedes y de sus necesidades durante su estancia. La limpieza diaria y la conexión Wi-Fi gratuita son sólo algunos de los servicios que se ofrecen. El personal está encantado de ayudar a los huéspedes con sus itinerarios con recomendaciones sobre dónde ir y qué ver en los alrededores de Mawella.
Como la villa ofrece acceso directo a la playa, los huéspedes tienen toda la playa para ellos solos, ya que apenas hay turistas y sólo unos pocos lugareños a la vista. En Sri Lanka se pueden hacer muchas cosas interesantes, como visitar la histórica ciudad de Galle, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, o ir al safari de Yala para disfrutar de la naturaleza y sus habitantes.
10/10We stayed at Taru Villas - Mawella in mid-September for two nights. We noticed a one or two less than complementary reviews on here and honestly we could not disagree more. From the moment we were welcomed at the gates by the manager and his team we knew we made the right choice. What a lovely place to spend a couple of days relaxing after a busy week of touring Sri Lanka. The stay and villa was perfect. We loved the location - right on Mawella beach which could have been out of a picture postcard. We quickly settled in to holiday mode. A quick snooze under the garden hammock, lazing by the pool and catching up on well needed sleep. Our bed and room was so comfortable it was difficult to get up on a few occasions. Luckily the staff told us there was no set time for breakfast! From teatime treats to lighting candles in the room at turndown, it was the little touches that made our stay so special. A mention must go to the food. The homemade banana granola at breakfast is highly recommended as are the cocktails! We would recommend Mawella in a heartbeat. We'll be back!
10/10We spent 3 nights here. Our first stay in a Taru property. Peaceful setting. Property is well maintained, rooms are comfortable and spacious. Direct access to a quiet and beautiful beach. Staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. We had all our meals at the Villa except for one night.....delicious meals! Meals could be had either outside our room or at the main dining table....both were perfect setting. Massages were organized from outside and were brilliant! All in all a wonderful stay and we left completely relaxed and rested.
10/10We stayed there with our kids for the last 5 nights of our trip to Sri Lanka. Very relaxing atmosphere, great service and the good is delicious. Not so many things to do in the area, but the beach is beautiful and they have body boards to use for free. Ideal if you're looking for a quiet place with excellent service. We stayed at the pool house and felt like in a private villa. You even have a little bell to ring when you're hungry or thirsty;-)
