10/10This is a beautiful hotel situated in balapitiya. The service was excellent and our room was absolutely stunning. We had a reduced rate because we live in Sri Lanka so I am not sure how much more expensive it is usually. The food was not the best we have had, but considering how stunning our room and the surroundings were, we were not too bothered by this. There are lovely grounds for walking and if you want to go out in a boat/canoe the hotel can arrange this. We highly recommend this hotel!
10/10This was my First Hotel Check-in In Srilanka. I found the place so solitary. A great escapade from the bustling city :). The five hour travel from airport to Balapithiya was exhaustingly fun. we were the only guest for that time being. so the staff manage to really pamper us. The manager and staff were so helpful and friendly they even picked Fresh Mangoes for me for a quick snack :). We stayed for 3 days. and was well accomodated. we Took the second great suite which is in the ground Floor "GIN" which has an Open flowing Living, Dining and Bed Area. the Bathroom was huge. thou we had a small private Jaccuzi.we actually booked the Best suite that they have, which was at the 1st floor of the hotel.unfortunately they didnt booked it for us. They have a pool few steps away from the suite. we managed to have a tour to different suites that they have. i love the local designs and Interior. The food were great. just the pancakes wasnt that prepared as i was expected.
10/10The hotel is wonderful and the grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and so well looked after. Amazing food and all the staff are very friendly . special thanks to Managers Mr . Miguel and Mr.Sugath for looking after us and hotel.Thank you.
10/10We were not suppose to be at this hotel but found ourselves here as a result of them double booking us at one of their other properties ,Shinagawa so we arrived with mixed feelings . It is off the beaten track and is a beautiful setting. The view from the main building over the river is delightful. The weather was not great by the beach so to be by the river in a sheltered tropical surround was ideal. The staff were very friendly and tried extremely hard to keep us happy and see to our every need. We had the suite which is completely separate to the main building and is extremely private. It is a large room with separate bathroom and an outdoor spa in a small private garden. The pool is also away from the main building and is surrounded by tropical plants. We spent the afternoon there with the entire pool to ourselves and if we wanted anything we just rang a bell. Meals are served when and where you want them and are of the highest quality. The last night was my birthday and they went to enormous trouble to set the table by the pool and decorate it with tropical flower arrangements .My husband had picked the menu and I presented with a birthday cake to finish. We hired a tuk tuk through the hotel and went into Galle on one of the days. We were also given a free boat trip on the river which was very enjoyable and the staff on the boat were very friendly and made the trip interesting. If you are looking for peace and quiet is lovely surrounds with excellent service this is a great place to go. Note the mosquitos are hungry
10/10We arrived on our first night in Sri Lanka to The River House. It location is exceptionally beautiful. The hotel only has five rooms and is equally as stunning as it's location. Our room overlooked the water with a huge private terrace and private plunge pool. The external pool area is amazing and if you swim after dark you'll be accompanied by the light of fireflies. The staff were all amazing, kind and friendly especially Lakmal, Miguel and the manager Sudath. Food was fantastic at dinner and breakfast. I would 100% go back again!
