10/10Paradise as an upgrade. The location, the taste of the accommodation cannot be beat, great atmosphere, decor and a terrific breakfast, presented by very good staff
10/10Villa for ultimate relaxation! Great villa for ultimate relaxation with the beach literally at your feet. Perhaps the biggest headache was deciding whether to hit the pool or step over to the beach. Thanks also to the lovely staff who looked after us well!
10/10Great stay, beautiful location, super nice staff, they even arranged us a cake for Valentine’s Day.
10/10Delicious hotel with super sweet staff. Beautifully decorated. Beautiful villa, very stylishly furnished. The staff are super attentive and help you with everything. Compliments! It's next to a nice restaurant, delicious!
10/10This is literally a hidden gem tucked away in Talpe away from the busy town of Unawatuna. Loved the pool and the view, architecture, every little detail they have put in to place. The breakfast was very delicious as well. I’d definitely come here again and stay for longer.
10/10Very nice colonial house, very well maintained with very nice old furniture. Staff can be welcoming unlike all our accommodation in Sri Lanka -The huge bathroom open on a busy and noisy road with jacuzzi (not functional on our arrival) really disappointed us especially at the price of the service. Same observation for the very ordinary breakfast.
10/10After travelling around central Sri Lanka we decided to book Royal Indigo Villa for 5 nights to give us time to relax on the South Coast and we were not disappointed. The location is beautiful - set on a lovely quiet beach that seems like it could itself be a part of the Villa. The attention to detail within the Villa is excellent. We loved the layout and the open plan design of the rooms and communal areas. The pool and gardens were well maintained and we spent most of our time here relaxing on the sun loungers listening to the ocean and looking for sea turtles in the breaking waves! We were lucky enough to meet our hosts Stu and Erandi who were very happy to answer our questions and helped to make our stay extra special. The team they have on-site (including a top-class chef) were always on hand to provide food/beverages and (working tirelessly in the background) they kept the place spotless. Beyond this, outside of the Villa they were happy to help arrange tuk-tuks for us (ensuring we got a good deal), and when we would return late in the evening they were always on hand opening the doors for us before we reached them. We really enjoyed our time here and if (when) we return to Sri Lanka we will definitely be booking some more nights!
10/10We had a fantastic stay at The Royal Indigo Villas. The room was spotless, and the entire complex was well-maintained, making it feel fresh and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant manager was especially kind always giving extra attention to guests and ensuring our stay was perfect. The Villa is a boutique retreat, ideal for relaxation or family gatherings. Plus, it’s just a short Tuk Tuk trip from the lively Unawatuna shopping and restaurant strip. The complex has been architecturally deigned with so much attention to detail and quality. We had a wonderful stay and built great memories with staff and the Villa owner Stuart and his family.
10/10Our stay at the Royal Indigo villa exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beach front, pool overlooking the ocean, view from room, gardens, spacious room and bathroom and the friendly and helpful staff.
10/10Amazing stay in paradise! Our stay at Royal Indigo Villa was pure bliss. This property is in the most amazing location with absolute beach frontage. From our room we had a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea where we got the magnificent view of the sun rising and setting over the ocean. The large horizon pool is the best I have experienced, it is beautifully warm and it is just heaven floating around while looking out to sea. The villa itself is luxuriously decorated with beautiful Sri Lankan antiquities including a beautiful tea wheel on the wall above the dining table. The villa has its own chef who makes amazing Sri Lankan curries and western food. My favourite breakfasts were the yummy egg hoppers and Dahl and the egg curry. Each breakfast included fresh tropical fruits and amazing fresh fruit juices as well as great brewed coffee. The five staff gave us wonderful service and nothing was any trouble for them. They greeted us each morning with hot coffee and it was a joy to watch Sunil change all the beautiful fresh flowers in the bowls each morning. If you are looking for a blissfully relaxing stay in an island paradise, this is the place. Thanks Royal Indigo Villa, we will be back again next year!
10/10Amazing villa; all the 5-star reviews were absolutely correct. this place is a gem. The rooms were air-conditioned, the linen spotless , the bathroom spotless, and the swimming pool right next to the water's edge was probably the best pool I have ever swum in. The staff fully welcoming and extremely attentive the restaurant next door, sold the most amazing fresh mud crab. a family of turtles came to see us at night. Treat yourself !!!!
10/10Brilliant location, beautiful villa and amazing staff!
10/10Awesome stay - would come again! Lovely villa in private setting - away from touristy beach areas. Staff are very helpful and friendly, accommodated to all our needs. Complimentary breakfast was yum and facilities were also very clean. Would be happy to stay again if come back to Sri Lanka.
10/10Highly recommended! Tasteful complex with a few rooms, beautiful pool, lovely beach. Attentive and helpful staff, good food upon pre-order.
10/10Other than the fantastic location right on the ocean front with sea turtles and crabs galore, the highlight was the excellent service and spectacular food. The chef, ex of the Intercontinental Doha, was delightful and varied and catered for discerning “foodie” adults and young and very young children. The villa team was discreet but ever at hand to tidy up and fill up (the glasses!). Trips in people carriers and tuk-tuks were reliably arranged and the 24hr security professional. Nearby some of. the local bars/restaurants have disappeared post COVID but there are beach bars at short tuk-tuk ride away. Galle is a fabulous town with markets and shopping (particularly for the ladies) with some excellent restaurants- though the service was not up to previous high SriLankan standards (post COVID I fear). But the best food is at the villa anyway. Go for the SriLankan breakfasts and the seafood BBQ - never seen so many lobsters on one table. Highly recommended villa. Mention too of villa finder who helped us out after being “bumped” from our first choice.
10/10What a beautiful villa, the pictures do not do any justice! After you have blown away by the well-decorated interior and amazing views, you cannot help but realize that its perfection is completed by the team of wonderful staff -> from service to the yummiest food ever! Thank you Lakmal, Chef Janaka, & team for looking after our every need. We loved it here so much and if fate allows it, we will surely be back again.
9.4/10We stayed as a family of 6 for a week and had a great time. The Villa is excellent and the staff even better. Janaka put all of the local restaurants to shame - a truly wonderful cook. We spent a lot of time surfing in Weligama and trips to Galle in the evening, although there are a lot of great restaurants nearby too. One downside is the noise - Road on one side and roaring surf that never stops on the other - nevertheless it would be hard to beat.
9.8/10Thank you very much for our 2 nights stay here. We all enjoyed it very much. The food was amazing, especially the Sri Lankan breakfast. a great Stay! Thank you to Lakmal, Danika and all the other staff for taking great care of us. We love this amazing home, wonderful staff and beautiful country. The Sri Lankan cooking was a great highlight.
