A boutique hotel located adjacent to the famous Unawatuna beach in Sri Lanka, Sergeant House is a sprawling property comprising several rooms and pavilions that are perfect for large gatherings, for which you can rent out the entire place. If you wish, you can opt to book a few rooms as well. An infinity pool spilling onto the lower pavilion and lily ponds, rests majestically overlooking lush vegetation. En la Casa del Sargento, tiene la opción de reservar todo el lugar o un número de habitaciones, según su elección. El bungalow consta de tres habitaciones, además de un pabellón junto a la piscina, un pabellón con vistas y una cueva. Con seis habitaciones, el lugar es lo suficientemente grande para una gran reunión.
Los bungalows del sargento, con cuatro camas, pueden alquilarse como una unidad completa, ya que ofrecen privacidad a los huéspedes. El dormitorio principal está amueblado con una cama tamaño king, los otros dos dormitorios están amueblados con una cama tamaño queen y dos camas con dosel. El pabellón junto a la piscina está amueblado con una cama de matrimonio con mosquitera, escritorio, servicio de té, nevera, aire acondicionado, etc.
El pabellón Long View es un lujoso espacio situado encima del Ambalama que ofrece excelentes vistas de la propiedad. Dispone de un dormitorio con una cama de matrimonio y una zona de estar. Con una pequeña cocina, es una suite ideal para familias o para aquellos que buscan privacidad. La Cueva se encuentra enclavada en una acogedora casita con dos camas individuales con dosel. Está equipada con todas las comodidades para una casa autosuficiente. Cada dormitorio tiene su propio baño en suite.

Nada más atravesar las antiguas puertas de madera de la Casa del Sargento, quedará encantado por la abundancia de follaje natural que tiene ante sí. Hay estanques de lirios, flores exóticas, árboles, plantas y arbustos de todas las variedades que se mantienen fieles al trópico. For living areas, Sergeant House features a traditional Ambalama or a 'rest pavilion', which is an open-sided living area ideal for lounging with friends and family. With antique furniture, high-soaring ceiling, exposed wooden beams, and a gorgeous view of the pool and gardens, the ambalama is the best place for mingling with loved ones. There are comfortable lounge chairs, sofas, and chairs as well as décor including fresh flowers, glass bell chandeliers and an all around homely ambiance.
The Ambalama comprises a banquet dining table so that all the guests of the villa can accommodate themselves comfortably and enjoy a hearty meal together. The table can be separated to form smaller dining areas, as per preference. The gourmet kitchen at Sergeant House prides itself in offering cooking classes to guests, to learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine. It is fully-equipped with modern appliances and facilities. A chill-out and games room which is found adjacent to the pool, is partially outdoors and is perfect for hanging out as it has board games, darts, carom. There are books and children's toys as well for guests to enjoy.

There are numerous services being offered at Sergeant House including a massage hut, where guests can indulge in massage therapies etc. and a multi-purpose gym. The staff is experienced and generous to the guests' needs.

10/10This boutique hotel is a fantastic place to stay for many reasons. Located in a quiet position, but only a few minutes walk into the village and on the main bus route if you want to go into Galle. The room was enormous. The attention to detail was outstanding in every aspect. Air conditioning was superb. Breakfast - plentiful and lovely fresh fruit. A very enjoyable stay - enhanced by the friendly staff who were very engaging. Faultless experience. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
10/10You can not dream of something better than what you will find in Sergeant House. Refined taste, attention to detail, large, comfortable rooms, fantastic service. As a bonus, besides the beautiful pool, you cross the (busy ) street and you are at the private, cure beach.
10/10Staying at Sergeant House was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. Tucked just a short walk from the centre of Unawatuna, the property felt like a peaceful, private oasis — full of charm, history, and natural beauty. We were lucky enough to be the only guests during our stay, and the experience felt incredibly personal and exclusive. The private beach just across the road was a lovely, quiet spot — a beautiful place to relax and take in the ocean views. The staff were absolutely wonderful. They truly spoiled us – always warm, attentive, and thoughtful without being intrusive. Every interaction felt genuine, and nothing was ever too much trouble. It was clear they take great pride in making guests feel at home. The villa and gardens are beautifully maintained, with colonial architecture and lush greenery. We had the pool entirely to ourselves throughout our stay, which made it feel all the more relaxing and luxurious. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable — a lovely mix of heritage and modern touches. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, with fresh, flavourful options that started each day beautifully. Sergeant House is a rare find — peaceful, full of character, and run with true care. It was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the quiet, and we’ll always remember the calm and kindness we experienced here.
10/10We have just arrived home after a fabulous night away staying with Chathuri at Sergeants House. To say it exceeded our expectations would not do it justice. The staff, the room, the food and the grounds were simply amazing. Our room was decorated to celebrate our sons birthday and they looked after the whole family like royalty. The grounds are stunning and the jacuzzi and pool the best we have visited in Sri Lanka. Everyone there created the perfect atmosphere to relax in and made our stay tweely sensational, thank you so much, we will be back .
