10/10This really is the perfect retreat, tucked away on the edge of a tea plantation we stayed for 3/4 days with friends and couldn’t fault anything. From the moment we walked through the door everything had been thought of, it was the first time I had stayed anywhere where we had our own personal butler !! We were greeted with a drink and a nice warm fire (despite being March temperatures in the evening were like we were used to in the UK ) Rooms were large and comfortable meals were to die for, we really couldn’t find anything to fault during our stay. The hardest part was saying goodbye. I would recommend Goatfell as a private and exclusive place to stay it is off the beaten track but well worth the journey I am just looking for an excuse to visit again…..
10/10We just returned , after spending a wonderful long weekend at Goatfell. Despite the adverse weather; which was heavy winds and rain almost the entire trip- Goatfell still didn’t fail us. The location is an old estate bungalow converted into a cozy and more than comfortable 4 room. The staff was Azgar and the team who made it their mission to make sure everything was upto snuff specially since we couldn’t step out much due to the weather. We caught a bit of sun during the stay and we got to trek downhill to the tea plantation. They also have some great hike trails. The view is just magnificent, the chef did a marvelous job with the amazing food . The butler went out of his way to ensure that the food was to our satisfaction ; always with the smile on his face. The pool isn’t heated as its outdoor; but the view from near the pool deck is just stunning
10/10What an experience! what a property! we celebrated our wedding here, and it was a truly exceptional experience. the staff went out of their way to facilitate every requirement for the ceremony, and were indeed a part of it. food and ambience was heavenly.
10/10Goatfell is surrounded by lush tea plantains and trees and is high up on a hill, making it fairly isolated and connected to nature in the best possible way. There's absolute calm and silence in the air and you'll find yourself sitting outside on the terrace, sipping a glass of wine and forgetting all about 'real life'. Once you've spent ages staring out into the glorious hills of Kandapola, you can either take a dip in the infinity pool (cold, but invigorating!) or curl up indoors with a book by the fire. Waking up for the stunning sunrise over the hills and hiking through the tea estates is an amazing way to start your morning. You'll find plenty of goats and birds coming up to say hello along the way. The excellent service from Askar, Indika and the team was the absolute highlight of this experience. Nothing was too much trouble and their knowledge about the surroundings and the attention they paid to every tiny detail was truly special. Food was indulgent and wonderful, and I would absolutely go back just for the fresh steak and the homemade coconut ice cream. Overall, this was a truly magical stay 💖
10/10Reflecting on over three weeks touring Sri Lanka and staying at luxury boutique properties throughout, this was the best overall from a very good bunch. Intimate, set in a beautiful cool tea plantation with outstanding food and service during our three day stay. Fully inclusive including laundry which was helpful mid trip with lovely touches such as open fire on the evening.
10/10What an incredible experience. From the moment you arrive, you are enveloped in the most beautiful, serene surroundings. The inside of the bungalow is calm and comfortable with a roaring log fire, comfy blankets, and an array of delicious food and drinks. Outside changes all the time, sitting on the veranda watching the clouds move over the mountains can pass the hours away. It is a very special place, the staff, Deva, Askar, and Chef Pradeep are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. I can't wait to come back, two nights was not enough. I travelled here with my 17 year old daughter and 11 year old.son, both enjoyed it as much as I did.
10/10WOW! I can't begin to describe how much we loved our time here! I was travelling just with my twins (aged 10) and we had the best time - the food is literally sensational and the rooms are divine. Comfy beds, incredible food, the best service of any hotel I have ever been to and the most unbelievable peace - the silence was unreal. We had lit fires in the evening, laundry done, and hot water bottles in our beds - this is truly the best hotel I have ever been to and we met the loveliest people. I would give this hotel ten stars!
10/10Stunning location (up a very narrow winding road), only 4 rooms, so a very intimate feel to the place. Spectacular views, very high quality dining, attentive staff… Infinity pool, croquet lawn, dining viewpoint, roaring fires and board games for cooler evenings… the perfect place to chill out! We were only there two nights but would gladly stay longer. There are guided walks and activities if you want them - we went for a 5km stroll to see the tea pickers and local flora and fauna and it was lovely. In May it can get cloudy/rainy and chilly at night, so we want to go back earlier in the year for clearer skies and even more stunning views! Definitely the perfect place to unwind!
10/10Well what a beautiful peaceful hotel! All inclusive, excellent service and the food was amazing! Climate changed and an added hot water bottle in the bed on turn down service! Such a surprise! Beautiful room with a four poster and views in the garden of the Tea plantations all over the hills! Amazing! Off a beaten track. Staff attentive lots of snacks drinks etc and very nice wines!! We will be back one day!
