A 300-year old Dutch house reformed into a semi-modern, Sri Lankan seaside villa that still features some of its ancient architecture. The adaptation sparks a curiosity only resolved when one walks out to the sandy beach that blends as one with the villa gardens. The villa is divided into two wings that consist of ten bedrooms at the, making this the perfect retreat for a party, wedding, or even a corporate retreat! The villa is closely located to Galle, Hikkaduwa, and Unawatuna so you have plenty to do in the vicinity.
With ten bedrooms, Ivy Beach Villa is meant for up to 23 guests all of whom can be accommodated with ease. Designed with a similar old-world charm, all the bedrooms are furnished with king-sized beds and also offer additional seating in form of sofas or chairs. The warm sunlight streaming through the curtains and the high-soaring ceiling that enlarges the bedrooms even further work well together to give you a sanctuary you can call your home for the next few days! Guests can accommodate comfortably in the bedrooms as there are en-suite bathrooms with showers areas, basins, and other amenities.

The expansive lawns at Ivy Beach Villa are manicured to an inch of their life to make sure you can walk and the kids can run around on the grass with ease. A 10-metre swimming pool flanked by a sun deck is at your disposal or you can simply lay back and relax on the sun chairs. There is a gazebo under which you have an alfresco dining area for dining amidst the fresh air, and you can even enjoy a private event here as it is especially pretty once the sun sets.
The living room at the villa is a wonderful space furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, set against natural stone walls and under a slanted, wooden ceiling. This rustic space is reminiscent of the house’s rich past and will make you feel at home and at ease with the surroundings. Antique cabinets and vintage furniture make this all the more charming in its style of interiors. Complimentary to these vintage accents are the modern amenities that are extended to guests in the form of air-conditioning and ceiling fans to keep the room at a bearable temperature!
While you enjoy a hearty feast with loved ones on the dining table, the villa staff will enthral you with their skills. You can even enjoy tea in the restaurant which has been set out as a café floor with plenty of seating and resplendent views.
Ivy Beach Villa is a whimsical place which will leave you breathless and lightheaded. The staff here is as kind as can be offering their services to the guests without hesitation. Cleaning and management aside, guests of the villa can opt for a personal chef to cook delicious local and western food for an additional charge. If you wish to take tours or excursions to the city of Galle or nearby areas, then car/scooter/bicycles are available for rent.
The villa is close by few of the main cities in Sri Lanka, especially the city of Galle which is replete with historical architecture, the famous Galle Fort and other intriguing sights. Hikkaduwa is a resort town with beautiful beaches which is also not far from the villa, so you can head out there and even visit some of the turtle hatcheries! Plenty of water activities to engage in like snorkelling and surfing while you’re here.

10/10We had an amazing stay at Ivy Beach Villa with our group of 12 people. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The food at the villa's restaurant was absolutely delicious—every meal was a highlight of our stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything we needed. They assisted us with transfers, organized trips, and gave great recommendations on what to do in the city and whom to trust. One of the things we appreciated the most was how safe we felt. We often left doors open, even at night, and never had any issues. Our belongings were completely secure throughout the stay. Overall, we are extremely happy with our experience. The staff played a huge role in making our vacation truly enjoyable, and we are very grateful for their hospitality. Highly recommended!
10/10A great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle with friends and family, very attentive service, it’s clear that the guys are really trying, the cleanest ocean right here, your own pool, excellent cuisine at reasonable prices and very close to Galle and cool beaches, super like!
10/10Our family of 17 had a 14 day stay over Xmas & New Year. The place is fantastic. The staff could not do enough for us. The chef was brilliant and cooked whatever we wanted, at whatever time, far cheaper than we would have paid elsewhere. Siri booked fireworks, masseurs, Mask dancers, and disco for us at The Old Lady itself, also transport etc for days out. Really recommend it.
