We had an amazing stay at the house with our 2 children 3 & 7. Incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The house team were extremely welcoming and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this house for anyone who is looking for some time away from the busier locations on the coast. The local beaches (Silent Beach and Paradise Beach) are some of the best beaches we have ever visited and are only approx 5-mins TukTuk ride away from the house. An amazing place!

A hammock, villages surrounding you, a quiet beach at walking distance that stays mostly empty, comfortable rooms and impeccable service. A proverbial place for those who look for real solitude just to 'be' or to be creative. All you can do is enjoy their pool, the beach or walk around and meet off and on very friendly villagers. They have a spa, which is more like a shack with village girls for Ayurvedic massage.

Lovely quiet private villa. Go there and expect to do nothing except relax, eat, swim, walk and repeat! Gorgeous pool with a great view of the Ocean. Quiet strip of the beach is within walking distance. Food is average - if you are Asian ask the cook to put the level of spice accordingly We found the food a little bit bland for our taste And the Spa could do with some improvement But overall lovely place to relax in Tangalle

Our family of two adults and two young children stayed at the kadju house in late September. The cement Lane that was just big enough for bumble bees to take off or land was an apt clue to the unobtrusive paradise that lay meditating under the morning sun.Walking up the steps , led by a serene caretaker , we were struck by the sublime , yet grandiose situation of the kadju house. Here, we felt that we had walked further into nature, as we entered the building and spilt ourselves into its comfort. The authentic, village style food and the sincere and generous service that is quintessentially Sri Lankan , made for a truly memorable stay. Congratulations to the architect who can design a building that can keep a three year old and a nine year old stimulated without any resort to technology! This is truly paradise

We stayed at Kadju house for a week in early October last year, as the main leg of our honeymoon. Decided to share our experiences with others since my wife and I cant stop reminiscing about our our wonderful and restful time at Kadju House. I had been to Sri Lanka previously and knew that the beaches further south from Galle towards Tangalle got better that the ones further north. But I did not expect that we would be getting such a marvelous bit of beach at Seenimodra! Its relatively private, catering to a handful of private villlas, and just moments away connect by a few steps down to sea level. The house is positioned in such a way that you get spectacular views of the Indian Ocean along with hearing its calming sound track! I believe the website other comments on tripadvisor were helpful in helping us decide that this would be our honeymoon venue. After all we were looking for something special in terms of comfort, style and beauty... and not least somewhere private! Kadju House delivered on all those in spades. But what we did not expect was the warmth and caring of the staff. Each one, from the cook, to the bearer and Keerti who mans the spa made our stay feel special and pampered. I love curries and my wife only eats fish, so we were in heaven! Only thing to mention here is that alcohol is difficult and expensive to come by, so do stock up at the Duty Free on arrival. Also get your own coffee if you are very particular like myself. The staff cater to your needs and whims so the most challenging yet rewarding part of the day was deciding the lunch and dinner menu for the day over breakfast (breakfast menu was done over dinner the night before and was combination of exotic fruits for my wife and sri lankan delicacies for myself). The we would decide our spa treatment for the day and make sure we were by the beach in the hours leading to to sunrise. My favorite time was the day was dawn, worth getting up a six in the morning for. We also hired a yoga instructor who elevated the zen vibe. Getting to Kadju is relatively easy from Colombo, but do try to take sea plane one way if you can. Terrific views!

This property is magic. Only a stone's throw away from the unspoilt beach of Seenimodera, where there is hardly ever anyone except the fishermen with their morning catch, this property exceeded all expectations. From the wonderful staff, to unique local flavours in the food preparation, to the experience of living in an architectural paen to Tropical Modernism, there is nothing not to like about this place. It is a hidden slice of heaven, where you can disconnect, recharge and immerse yourself in the bounty of nature. This was my first experience of living in a villa that embraces the outdoors into its architecture so seamlessly. And the pool is simply other-worldly. I traveled alone, but this is a wonderful property if you are traveling with friends or as a couple. I will surely go back. One small request to the management - kindly upgrade your music system in the pool area and/or please provide music systems for guests in the rooms. Thank you.

We had an amazing time in Kadju House. The place itself is stunning with the pool overlooking the Indian Ocean, a very nice design... The fantastic staff, the house, the beach, the pool, everything, was simply the best and perfect! It's not paradise, it's just Sri Lanka!

We just returned from 5 days at Kadju House. We were a group of 4 families with kids in the ages of 4-8. We are from Chennai and were looking for a longish weekend away during the Diwali holidays. Our interaction with Vikrom the owner was brilliant - all the information was provided, the website was wonderful to look at and the initial advance and finance aspect of it was very very smooth. Based on some of the reviews here on TA, we were pretty excited about going here. Vikrom also was kind enough to forward links to activities nearby, things to do for kids, etc. We reached on Oct 22 and took the coastal road with a halt in Bentota for lunch. A word to the wise. On the Southern Expressway, the Colombo airport to Kadju House is a straight 3-3.5 hour drive. If you choose to take the coastal road, passing through Galle, Bentota, Unawatuna, etc, this becomes a lot longer. We left the airport at half past 12 in the afternoon and reached the house at 7:30pm after a lunch stop. This was the only sour point of our entire trip but this had nothing to do with the House itself. Our return was 3 hours flat to Colombo. We were greeted by Keerthi, Dipika, and Chamara. Wonderful wonderful people and who take service to the point of a religion. Yet they are so discreet and quiet and no nonsense about it, they were never in our faces, left us alone and just went about their jobs. Keerthi is the house manager who wakes up early does a morning ritual at the Ganesh shrine at the bottom of the steps, places flowers at the buddha shrine near the tree, cleans the pool daily, visits the market for groceries and other odd jobs. Chamara was responsible for serving food, housekeeping, etc and Dipika was the masterchef! We had called ahead and told her they should expect us for dinner, we gave them a rough menu everyday and they had itemized bills at the end of everyday that they would show you if you so choose. The food beyond a doubt was exemplary. We were 3 vegetarians in our group and they were delighted with all the meals. The seafood, chicken, salads were very very good. They can do the local sri lankan flavour very well as well as a continental pasta, a baked dish, or dessert. The Sri Lankan Wattalappam was the pick of the trip!!! Do not miss. We wanted to steal them away from Kadju. This is not beachfront but it is less than a 2 minute walk through some adjoining villas and a flight of steps and it did not hamper our beach trips in the least. There are 3 dogs (who our kids actually named while we were there) who though harmless and almost invisible, accompany you every time you go to the beach and lie down quietly near your things and almost guard them and they keep a lookout. One time the kids went down to the beach by themselves and even though an adult followed soon after, the dogs didn't leave their side. Some may feel nervous about dogs but we felt very safe. It is a private beach and in all the five days we saw maybe one other family and had the entire beach to ourselves. Fantastic. This is a good point for Yala national Park which we did a side trip to, as well as Galle. Local market in Matara and Tangalle are also nice. The main point of this trip was total relaxation which we achieved. All rooms are now air conditioned so you don't have to choose if you are travelling as a group. I stayed at the garden room which is the biggest room and leads off the dining area. The beds are setup on a raised concrete platform but can be joined together for a couple or even to accommodate more kids. The courtyard room is opposite the garden room also leading off the dining area and is a regular double bedroom but with a bathroom to die for and an open air shower. The sea room is on the upper level near the pool and has nice views, air conditioned and has a lovely bath. Pool room on the lower level directly beneath the pool also with a nice open bath concept and overlooks the front garden. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for peace, relaxation, outstanding food, a beach holiday with some activity thrown in.
