Found facing the Bentota river on the Western Coast of Sri Lanka, also offering stunning views of the island, is No1 Indian Ocean, a holiday villa with four bedrooms and expansive gardens. With an aim to merge the outdoors with indoor living, the villa is designed with two separate chalets, each with two bedrooms, facing the garden and the pool, along with the river in the distance. Massive glass walls ensure that guests have a view to gaze at all the time. The villa is only an hour’s drive from the historical city of Galle, deemed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO!
There are four bedrooms in total at the villa, two in each of the two chalets. Each of these bedrooms is a master suite with king-sized beds, a spacious layout, and ample wardrobe space for your belongings. The bedrooms are well-lit for a comfortable setting, so you can enjoy some time out and rest easily without a disturbance. There are en-suite bathrooms in each of the four bedrooms and they are fitted with showers that have hot and cold water for your convenience.
The gardens at No1 Indian Ocean are spread across a vast piece of land that extends out to the river for a spectacular panoramic vista. The best part is the luscious tropical foliage that grows wherever you see, with trees, plants, flowers, and more. A lavish swimming pool adjoined to a pool deck runs the length of the villa, offering an almost infinity-style edge, since you can enjoy a view of the river as you chill in the water. The deck has sun chairs as well, upon which you can lounge, sunbathe, read, or doze off under the afternoon sun.
Since the villa features two distinct and adjacent chalets that almost gives you a feeling of two separate villas, it is equipped with fully air conditioned living and dining areas. The open-plan pavilions feature glass doors that lead to the gardens while also providing a view of Sri Lanka’s beautiful blue skies and the river. With whitewashed walls and elegant furnishing, the villa living areas are comfortable and wonderfully-appointed spaces that are good for a communal gathering of guests. There are sofas and armchairs, and the rooms are decorated with many indoors plants as well.
A six-seater dining table shares space with the living pavilion as well, and because these are also found beside the doors, you can bask in the breath-taking view while also digging into your delicious food. Individual dining and living pavilions can be found alfresco for a complete tropical experience. The villa chef will delight your taste-buds with Sri Lankan delicacies or even international dishes.
Your personal chef is all too happy to serve the most delicious and exciting dishes to you and your loved ones including Sri Lankan cuisine, made from freshly-picked ingredients. Each of the two chalets has one butler to serve the guests’ needs. There is laundry service available to guests, and upon request the staff can arrange for yoga sessions or spa treatments in-house.
Guests are free to explore the beaches and indulge in some excellent water activities like water skiing and jet skiing for a thrilling time. You can even go swimming in the sea, for a true tropical experience. The city of Galle is an hour away, a great place for exploration as it features many colonial-style buildings, the famous Galle Fort, and other places of interest!
